The new longer L-Rubber is a functional solution for weather sealing the semi domes at the pivot location. Properly installed this will prevent water from entering at this location. The rubber is attached to the outside of the primary dome, creating a seal between the primary and secondary domes. With this solution screws are used to install the rubber and caulking is added behind the rubber for a complete seal. This is a no charge solution for those POD owners who originally received a shorter L-Rubber gasket and who currently have the rubber installed on the inside of the primary dome. You can also leave the original inside rubber in place, thereby forming a bonus double seal between the semi domes. PODs shipped after Oct. 1 2007 received this longer rubber and instructions for installation, so for those POD owners this upgrade is not necessary. This solution is for POD owners who originally received the shorter L-Rubber gasket and have it installed on the inside, or who currently have the newer longer rubber installed on the outside and would like to replace it with new rubber and the aluminum arch. With this solution early POD owners can also leave the original inside rubber in place, thereby forming a bonus double seal between the semi domes. Solar Powered Vent w/ built in exhaust fan During POD beta testing we found this well priced solar powered vent which has done a great job of keeping POD internal temps within 10-15 degrees F. of outside temps during the day. In extreme temperature areas additional units or alternative cooling may be needed. We've found a great supplier for these vents in CA.
